Before re-roofing, the damaged wood was cut out and replaced: about 80 feet of fascia board, 28 sheets of roof plywood and 7 rafter tails on the second building, plus rotted eave wood on the house.
Shingle both roofs
New shingle roofs went on both buildings, and a spark arrestor was fitted to the chimney.
Replace the gutters
The old gutter system was removed and hauled away. About 180 feet of new 5-inch white gutters and 11 downspouts went up in its place.
Repair the siding and repaint
Damaged siding and window trim were replaced, then the exterior was painted. The sunroom screen was replaced and damaged fence sections were repaired.
Final inspection
Each roof was on its own City of Vacaville building permit, and both passed final inspection in July 2026.
